African Center for international arbitration

Recently, Zhang Zhijie, Zhang Zhiqin, Zhang Yunguang and their entourage from the African International Arbitration Centre (IACA) were invited to attend the office meeting of the Minister of Education and Science of Malawi. Both sides had in-depth exchanges on the training of foreign-related legal talents.

 

In recent years, IACA has set up international arbitration scholarships at the University of Malawi and carried out public welfare donations to impoverished schools in Lilongwe, continuously supporting the cultivation of young foreign-related legal professionals. The Minister of Education and Science of Malawi fully recognized IACA’s achievements in fulfilling social responsibilities and highly appreciated its efforts in innovative practices concerning arbitration rules and systems.

 

The Minister proposed that both sides should continue to deepen cooperation and jointly promote the development of foreign-related legal talents in various law schools. It is suggested to establish university education and internship bases relying on IACA and invite IACA arbitrators to serve as visiting professors at universities.

It is reported that in view of IACA’s outstanding contributions, the Ministry of Education and Science of Malawi plans to award IACA and some outstanding arbitrators the 2063 Youth Legal Capacity Building Award.
