Hong bin, President of the China Council for the promotion of International Trade (ccpit) and director of the China International Economic and trade arbitration, said that with the rapid evolution of the world's century-old transformation, the momentum of the global economic recovery is insufficient, international Economic and trade cooperation is facing more instability and uncertainty. Solidarity and cooperation is the only right choice. The China Council for the promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the China International Economic and trade arbitration are ready to work with other parties to deepen exchanges and cooperation, build broad consensus, build a high-quality platform and provide high-quality services, we will make greater contribution to promoting high-quality development of international arbitration, promoting world economic recovery and prosperity, and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Looking towards the future, Ren Hongbin put forward three suggestions: adhere to a global perspective, deepen international exchanges and cooperation in the rule of law; Adhere to excellence and strive for excellence in international commercial arbitration services; Persist in focusing on the future and accelerate the pace of digital empowerment in international commercial arbitration.
Li Mingzheng, vice-minister of Justice, said that China was accelerating the building of a new system of higher-level Open economy and was continuously creating a first-class business environment that was market-oriented, law-based and international, we will build a modern socialist country on the track of rule of law. As an international common way of settling commercial disputes, arbitration plays an important role in the investment, trade and economic development of a country or region. In the future, China's arbitration should adhere to positive innovation, speed up the improvement of the rules of the arbitration system, strengthen mutual learning and build a global service brand, deepen international exchanges and expand the breadth and depth of cooperation.
Wang Shumei, a deputy minister-level full-time member of the Supreme People's Court Commission and second-level Chief Justice, said that Chinese courts attach great importance to the judicial review of arbitration and actively promote the continuous improvement of arbitration laws and rules, we will support the innovation and development of arbitration mechanisms and make solid progress in the pilot project to build an international commercial arbitration center. In the future, Chinese courts will continue to support the innovation and development of the commercial arbitration system, handle all kinds of arbitration judicial review cases impartially and efficiently, and promote the high-quality development of arbitration, we should jointly create a good legal environment for the construction of international arbitration across the times.
The secretary-general of UNCITRAL, Anna Joubin-bret, said that in recent years, uncitral had done a great deal of work in promoting the integration and transformation of international arbitration, including the introduction of systems such as early dismissal and preliminary adjudication, to issue a number of documents, such as the Code of conduct for International Investment Dispute Settlement Arbitrators, and to study the development of electronic arbitration. In the future, uncitral will continue to pay attention to and actively adapt to the new opportunities and challenges of dispute resolution in the new era.
In the view of Ismail Selim, president of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions, arbitration as an important means of settling international disputes is at the crossroads of history as the world becomes more interconnected. The International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions was established in 1985 to promote arbitration institutions as active agents in the settlement of international disputes, international rule-making and international economic and trade exchanges. Facing the trend of intelligence and information, arbitration should insist on sharing, vision, evolution, tolerance and interconnection. International Commercial Arbitration Institutions will continue to build a dialogue platform for global arbitration institutions and jointly promote the development of arbitration in the new era.
UN International Law Commission Marcelo Vazquez-bermudez said the growing demand for arbitration centres in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa was driven by economic globalisation, international arbitration shows the trend of regional and multi-center development. The important role of international law is to ensure the consistency of international rules under this trend and to ensure that disputes are settled in a fair and equitable manner, particularly in the context of investor-state investment disputes, international law is of great significance in balancing the sovereign interests of investors and states.
