IACA Holds Talks with the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry

The Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry is Malawi’s national chamber alliance, with its origins dating back to 1892. Headquartered in Blantyre, it encompasses enterprises and industry associations across trade, manufacturing, mining, agricultural processing, services and other sectors. Serving as a vital bridge linking the government and the private sector, the confederation undertakes functions including issuance of certificates of origin, commercial information consultation, enterprise training and investment promotion, and represents Malawi’s private sector in international exchanges.
During the talks, the MCCCI side stated that Malawian local enterprises frequently suffer infringements of their rights and interests in overseas operations amid inadequate risk prevention mechanisms. It looks forward to establishing cooperation with IACA to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises through professional dispute resolution mechanisms.
Zhang Zhiqin welcomed the delegation’s visit, acknowledged MCCCI’s demands to protect the rights and interests of its member enterprises, and said both sides will continue to deepen exchanges, explore cooperation approaches for commercial dispute prevention and settlement, and jointly support cross-border economic and trade activities of Malawian enterprises.
