African Center for international arbitration

 

On the morning of June 5, Zhang Zhijie, Zhang Zhiqin, Shen Yanwu and other representatives from the International African Arbitration Centre (IACA) travelled to Blantyre to visit Bakili Muluzi, former President of the Republic of Malawi and Honorary Chairman of the International African Arbitration Centre.

Bakili Muluzi stated, "I am very grateful for your visit. I was the first democratically elected President of the Republic of Malawi and the founder of the United Democratic Front (UDF). During my tenure, I liberalized freedom of speech and press, advanced market-oriented reforms and expanded multilateral diplomacy. After leaving office, I have committed myself to China-Africa economic, trade and legal cooperation. It is my great honour to serve as the Honorary Chairman of the International African Arbitration Centre (IACA) and contribute to the settlement of cross-border commercial disputes between China and Africa." He also expressed his readiness to personally boost the rapid development of IACA across Africa.

Zhang Zhijie briefed Mr. Muluzi on the development of IACA since its establishment and extended gratitude for his long-standing attention and robust support to the Centre’s growth. Zhang Zhiqin and Shen Yanwu held in-depth exchanges with Bakili Muluzi respectively.
