It is understood that,Shenzhen International Arbitration CourtEstablished in 1983,also calledFormerly known as，SCIA, abbreviated as SCIA in English, is a product of China's reform and opening up, and the first arbitration institution in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao region,That's rightThe world's first to implement legalization、Arbitration institutions for international corporate governance mechanisms。As of now, parties involved in SCIA arbitration and mediation casesAccumulatively covering 141 countries and regions。
The current "Arbitrator Roster" of SCIA will expire on February 20, 2025, according to the "Shenzhen InternationalArbitration CourtIn accordance with the provisions of the Regulation and the decision of the Council, SCIA has initiated the update of the arbitrator roster and opened up applications for arbitrator qualifications worldwide.
1Application requirements
（1） Statutory conditions. Meets the conditions for the qualification of arbitrators stipulated in the Arbitration Law of the People's Republic of China and the Shenzhen International Arbitration CommissionArbitration CourtThe requirements stipulated in Article 21 of the Regulations.
（2） Priority conditions. Priority will be given to those who meet one of the following ten conditions:
1. Has outstanding research achievements or rich practical experience in arbitration, mediation, negotiation facilitation, expert review and other related fields;
2. Rich experience in handling or representing international or domestic commercial cases;
3. Rich experience in handling investment arbitration cases;
4. Rich experience in handling temporary arbitration cases;
5. Rich experience in cross-border recognition and enforcement of arbitration awards;
6. Rich experience in resolving cross legal commercial disputes;
7. Familiar with the legal system of Hong Kong or Macau;
8. Have professional representativeness in related fields such as high-tech, intellectual property, maritime, maritime, finance, capital markets, international investment, international trade, or international construction engineering;
9. Have rich experience as an arbitrator in top global simulated arbitration competitions;
10. Professors from renowned law schools both domestically and internationally, legal executives from multinational corporations, renowned lawyers from international law firms, or outstanding judges with over 15 years of experience in foreign-related commercial trials.
（3） Other requirements. The applicant's scope does not include serving civil servants. If the applicant's employer in mainland China has requirements, they should obtain written consent from their employer.
IISelection Procedures
（1） Submit application
Domestic and foreign applicants, including the current Shenzhen InternationalArbitration CourtArbitrators on the list of arbitrators should fill out the arbitrator qualification application form online（ https://arbitrators.scia.com.cn/applyArbitrator ）The deadline is 2024 Beijing time24:00 on September 25th.
（2） Qualification assessment (review) and interview (interview)
Mainland Chinese arbitrators who apply to join the new roster of arbitrators will be assessed by the Council's Arbitrator Qualification and Conduct Review Committee for their arbitration case evaluation. Those who pass the assessment will be included in the list of candidates for arbitration. Those who fail the assessment shall have the opportunity to participate in the arbitrator candidate qualification interview organized by the Council Arbitrator Qualification and Conduct Examination Committee, as determined by the committee; Those who pass the interview will be included in the list of candidates for arbitration.
Non registered individuals from mainland China apply to join the new roster of arbitrators，According to their professional competence, the Qualification and Conduct Assessment Committee of the Board of Directors shall evaluate the qualifications and conduct of arbitrators、Review of industry experience, achievements in the industry, etc. (special note: those who have participated in the 2021 SCIA arbitrator qualification training)，The training and examination results can be used as a reference for the Council's Arbitrator Qualification and Conduct Examination Committee to determine whether they need to participate in the arbitrator candidate qualification interview organized by the Council's Arbitrator Qualification and Conduct Examination Committee。Those who pass the interview will be included in the list of candidates for arbitration.
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China、Macau Special Administrative Region, Taiwan region, and foreign applicants can fill out the arbitrator qualification application form online（https://arbitrators.scia.com.cn/applyArbitrator），It can also be done through email（secretariat＠scia.com.cn）Submit an application, which will be reviewed by the Council's Arbitrator Qualification and Conduct Examination Committee to determine if the candidate is qualified as an arbitrator.
The power to interpret the qualifications of arbitrator candidates lies with the Arbitration Qualification and Conduct Review Committee of the Council.
（3） Deliberation at the Council Meeting
The list of candidates for arbitrators shall be submitted to the Council meeting for review by the Qualification and Conduct Examination Committee of the Council. Approved by the council, awarded to Shenzhen InternationalArbitration CourtArbitrator qualification and inclusion in the new roster of arbitrators.
